The ACM SIGCHI Colombo Chapter just published a step-by-step guide for submitting to CHI 2027 in Pittsburgh (May 10–14, 2027 — theme: “Bridges”). Whether you’re a student, academic, or industry practitioner in Sri Lanka doing HCI-related work, here is what we want to suggest as your roadmap.
We’re organizing reading groups, writing workshops, and mentorship matching with diaspora researchers. Sri Lanka’s unique challenges — multilingual interfaces, digital inclusion, AI literacy, post-conflict tech design — are exactly what the global HCI community needs to hear about.
Our context isn’t a limitation. It’s our superpower.
